FORD MUSTANG

Convertible 1964.5 289ci 4.7 V8 Convertible (1965)

1965 (1964.5) Ford Mustang 289ci 4.7 V8 Convertible Automatic.

2 door Convertible, Petrol, Automatic,

Chassis No: 5F08D199### ( 5 = 1965, D = 289 4 V (1964 1/2 Mustang only) )

Although originally the Mustang was advertised as an early 1965 model, Ford made some changes to the later 1965 models that differentiated the two, and it is known today as the 1964 1/2 Mustang (1964.5 Mustang). Thus, the term 1964 1/2 or 1964.5 was eventually coined.

This Mustang was lovingly restored in Georgia, USA in 1997/98 and sold by Classic Muscle, Denver in 2008 to the Irish company Diageo Ltd, the company that produce Guinness and Baileys, for a promotional car.

The car is in stunning condition and a real credit to the restorer.

The Rangoon Red paintwork has a lovely deep shine and is silky smooth to touch. The bodywork is rust free as is the chassis with no undershield applied, all the shut lines are perfect and the Chrome is excellent.

The White Convertible top, like new, is electric and works faultlessly, a really cool feature in the 60,s.

The White Leather interior is in exceptional condition, finished off with chrome knobs and buttons and the original Ivory Steering Wheel.

The engine starts hot or cold and runs perfectly, the sound from the chrome tipped dual exhaust is fantastic with that lovely burble on tick over.

The car is totally original spec with the gold rocker covers, drum brakes and no power steering.

It is tax and MOT exempt.

116,753 KM on clock. (72,547 miles)

We have a folder full of invoices for the restoration work, import documents and the old American and Irish Log Books.

It has been used only on sunny days and stored indoors over the last years.

This really is a cool looking car and in fantastic condition!

We have recently registered the car in the UK and have a new V5 with registration number FNB 799C
